Skewby, “Proving You Wrong Since 1988 - The Mixtape”
If you do not have this mixtape, you are sleeping on one of the illest mixtapes I’ve heard come out of Memphis in my life. If you’re looking for another gangsta rap mixtape, you’re in the wrong place — this is straight original styles mixtape with the love and respect to the masters I have never seen the likes of here. Shouts to DJ Crumbz and DJ Charlie White. Wake up and download it here now now now gooo.

BBC Introuducing - A new music initiative to showcase up & coming UK artists.
Here are the details from the email. It will be interesting to see what rises to the top from this initiative.
BBC Introducing - a multi-platform initiative across BBC Radio 1, 6Music, 1Xtra, the Asian Network, Switch, over 35 BBC Local Radio stations and at bbc.co.uk/introducing - all working together to provide an internal network dedicated to showcasing the hottest new talent from across the UK.
Since launching at Glastonbury in 2007, the BBC Introducing Stage is now firmly established at many of the UK’s major festivals including Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Glastonbury, T in the Park and Reading and Leeds. Success stories from the initiative include, Florence & The Machine, Temper Trap, Chipmunk & The Ting Tings.Bands and artists can now upload their music on the BBC Introducing website – giving them the chance to be played out on BBC Radio and on the BBC Introducing stages at the major festivals. Since the Uploader launched earlier this year, nearly 10,000 artists have uploaded their tracks – that’s a staggering 22,353 tracks! The site also offers a hub of practical advice and information for new artists wanting to take the next step in the industry.
The initiative has various strands - local radio aspect of Introducing; the Uploader; Learning section on website; how it works on national radio networks; festivals and the music industry perspective on it.
The learning section is particularly relevant because as it offers a hub of practical advice and information for new artists wanting to take the next step in the industry. There are over 100 videos featuring BBC talent, industry experts including agents, managers, publishers and promoters as well as newer artists who are in the same boat as our target audience and bigger names, such as The Gossip, Maximo Park who all share their experiences. It covers advice on songwriting, recording, how to get gigs and engage with a new audience and much more and will continue to build and react to the changing industry.
